Special Programs and Activities
We offer several special programs, in addition to our intensive Spanish learning program at all levels.1. Our "Survival Spanish Course" is ideal for tourists and backpackers who want to take our special six-hour program (including lunch). You will learn some of the bare essentials of Latin American life, such as survival keywords and phrases as well as useful tips on travel and local customs. The cost is $75 per person.
2. We regularly organize other activities, such as dancing and cooking classes, for interested groups.
3. We arrange for and conduct Field Studies and Study Abroad Programs for high school and university students by special arrangement with U.S. academic institutions for inter-term, quarter or semester programs. We can offer a variety of courses, including Environmental Studies, History and Politics of Central America, Intercultural Studies, Spanish and Cultural Heritage, and so forth.
4. We arrange housing with Costa Rican families for all participants, contract the professors, plan the field trips and excursions, arrange the local transportation and oversee all aspects of the program.

5. We also offer specialized programs for Spanish teachers who need to complete required credits for continuing education.

Most of our students come to Central America to learn more about this part of the world and to live the "Latin American Experience". To encourage this, over the years we have become more involved in organizing activities that reflect the rich culture.
If our students are interested in taking advantage of Costa Rica’s unique ecosystem, we can help organize trekking, canopy tours, canoeing, kayaking and white-water rafting, deep-sea fishing, horseback riding, scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, as well as tours to the beaches, rainforests, wetlands and volcanoes.
