We have conducted a Maymester Program in Costa Rica for Berry College, located near Atlanta, Georgia. This included Spanish and Educational courses, along with classroom observation in local schools and a variety of field-trips.
Also, we planned and conducted a 4-week Study Abroad program for a consortium of Historical Black Colleges in the Atlanta, Georgia, area, which included a specialized curriculum in Afro-Hispanic Studies in the context of Latin America.
In addition, we coordinated a Program in Sustainable Development for West Virginia State College in 2002, funded by a Fulbright-Hays grant. For five years we planned and coordinated a spring semester-abroad academic program for Chapman University, located in Orange, California. This was a 15-week, academic program for 12-15 students, for which they received at least 16 credits.
The courses taught were Spanish language, Environmental Studies, Contemporary Central American Politics, Indigenous Peoples of Central America, Twentieth Century Latin American Literature, Cultural Heritage (Indigenous Peoples and people of African Descent) and Molecular Biology-Human Genetics. Due to changes in their policies, Chapman University no longer offers this program in Costa Rica.
